There is nothing negative I can say about this amazing process. I'm so thankful I chose Kate and although I do have questions about how she actually got into my head via my closet, I'm so thankful she did. This was my first experience being styled by someone else, with my actual pieces. I love all of the outfits Kate built for me, and even more perhaps, I appreciated her taking the time to explain her thought process. That's been the missing piece for me. I love my clothes but I needed help styling them. I understand about balance and proportion and other elements of style, but I just didn't trust myself to go for it on my own. Indyx and Kate have been game changers for me. 100% All the stars!

Kate really surprised me with how naturally she pushed me just outside my comfort zone while still keeping the looks feeling distinctly me. I got to experiment with unexpected color combinations, silhouettes, and styling choices, but everything still felt feminine, whimsical, and true to my style. I really enjoyed seeing my wardrobe through a fresh perspective and discovering new ways to wear pieces I already own. Thank you so much, Kate! 🩷

First off, Kate was very kind and thoughtful. She complimented my wardrobe and Pinterest inspiration and said I was already very close to achieving the style I was aiming for, which was nice to hear. It’s also great that she took the time to go through my Pinterest. Unfortunately, though, the looks and item recommendations she put together didn’t quite capture the vibe I was looking for. One of the looks was actually a combination I had alteady saved in my outfits, so that felt a little redundant rather than giving me a new direction to explore. One of the recommended items was also a basic ribbed T-shirt, which is something that is scarcely represented in either my Pinterest inspiration or my existing wardrobe, so it didn’t feel particularly aligned with my personal style or like something I would want to add. At the same time, I should mention that I had already saved a number of potential “to buy” pieces among my existing items, which may have made the task more challenging, as it potentially limited the room for her to suggest completely new pieces. I recognize that I may have been a somewhat challenging client because I have a fairly small capsule wardrobe, with relatively few pieces to work with. Based on my experience, I think Kate may be better suited to someone who isn’t as restricted by a capsule wardrobe and perhaps someone whose style is a little more open-ended. That said, Kate did give me some genuinely useful styling tips and made a few observations that I agreed with. For example, she pointed out that I have a lot of solid colours and that introducing a little more pattern could add interest and zhuzh things up. She also suggested looking for more variation in texture, which I think is a helpful direction for me to explore. Overall, while the recommendations weren’t quite the right fit for me, I appreciated Kate’s kindness and the insights she did provide.

Kate did an absolutely unreal job with my wardrobe! She took the time to go through my Pinterest, and noticed patterns about what outfits I had been saving that I didn’t even notice! I admired Katie’s style and remarkable perspective on fashion and personal style through social media so when I joined Indyx she was the first person I ran to for inspiration on my own wardrobe, and boy did she deliver! Wow, Kate really blew me away with her Lookbook! This spring I wanted a new perspective on how to bring more interesting color combinations and volume into my outfits. I originally chose Kate because I noticed all the unique layering she has done in the past, and I definitely saw that come forward in my ten outfits! Exactly what I needed: a new perspective on some of my pieces that helped me expand my wardrobe without having to buy a single thing. Not sure why it never once occurred to me to throw a sweater over a shirt dress before, but I had not thought to and now I can’t wait to try it. Kate used a really nice mix of my go-to items and things I never wear to create outfits that I wouldn’t have put together on my own but that still feel comfortable and like me. Her descriptions helped me apply the ideas to other pieces too, and get inspiration to build new outfits.

I contacted Kate to create a Canadian Prairie winter Lookbook. Having recently retired, my professional wardrobe no longer served me, but the relaxed retired style eluded me. Kate to the rescue! By looking through Indyx, she was able to nail my: personal style, silhouette preference, and colour choice. Each of the 10 outfits suggested was absolutely me! Kate clearly saw that comfort AND style was important to me. She focussed on many of my clothing items, but also suggested items to purchase to fill in the wardrobe gaps.
